The program will focus on Ancestry DNA, 23 and Me, and Family Tree DNA. Tim Seman, Genealogy and Local Historian Librarian at Main Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, will present the program. Journal Making and Journaling Saturday, June 9 at 11:00 a.m. Journaling is easier than you think. Paula Krisa will demonstrate how to make a journal as well as simple ways to begin journaling. Teens and adults are welcome to attend. The program begins Monday, June 4 and continues until Tuesday, August 7. Geology Road Show Tuesday, June 19 at 6:00 p.m. Cheryl Mattevi, a geologist, will bring a variety of rocks and talk about the geology of Ohio. If you have a special rock you are curious about, participants are welcome to bring rocks, minerals, and fossils to the program for identification. All ages. Braille and Adaptive Technologies for the Blind Monday, June 25 at 1:00 p.m. Special guests from Goodwill Vision Services will present a program about braille and other adaptive technologies used by the blind and sight impaired. Monday, July 16 at 6:00 p.m. Mack, our Guiding Ohio Online trainer, will share information about various streaming services such as Netflix and Hulu, and streaming devices such as Apple TV, Roku, and more. Closed Wednesday, July 4 Independence Day Book Donation from the Cope Family East Palestine Elementary parent Tiffany Cope shared an Amazon wishlist on Facebook so that culturally diverse books would be donated to the Elementary School Library. The response was overwhelming, and after donating books to both the Elementary School and Middle School, a wonderful selection of books was donated to our collection. We are very grateful to Mrs. Cope and her daughter, Kennedy. The books will be on the shelves for readers to enjoy this summer.
