How Do You Pick Something “Good” to Read?

   BY GENRE?

http://www.encompassculture.com/ - Choose “Books for Ages 12-18.”  Then choose “pot luck,” “reality,” or “imaginative.”  Then choose a particular genre.  A list of book reviews will be generated.

http://www.noflyingnotights.com/index2.html - Reviews graphic  novels.

http://www.teenreads.com/ - Has general book reviews but also includes special reviews on books-into-movies, series, manga, Christian fiction, and new releases.  This site also has quizzes and contests, a book club, and author interviews.

BY “NEW-NESS”?

http://www.east-palestine.lib.oh.us/ - Check out the changing “New Books” link on the homepage every month.  Also lists new audio books.

BY RECOMMENDATION?

http://www.ala.org/ala/yalsa/booklistsawards/booklistsbook.htm - Browse through lists of award winning books, graphic novels, audio books, and videos that were chosen by librarians who work with you or other teens.

BY TOPIC?

http://www.east-palestine.lib.oh.us/ - Click on “Library Catalog” on the left hand side.  Search by “keyword” for topics that interest you.  Ask a librarian to help you locate the book or help you find other books you may like.
