Junior Friends
of the Library
|
The library is seeking members for the Junior Friends group. The
Junior Friends are a division of the Friends of the Library for
students in grades 5 to 12 (ages 10-18) who meet regularly with the Youth
Services Librarian to discuss books, help plan library programs for ages
10-18, give input on library issues, suggest materials for purchase,
participate in the Book Buddies program, and assist the Friends of the
Library in their sponsored events (such as the annual book sale). If you are interested in being a Junior Friend and
your schedule will allow you to attend the monthly meetings and
participate in the Junior Friends events, click
here, or stop by the library and pick up an application in the teen
area or at the front desk.
The activities of the Friends aid the library in purchasing
items. Since the establishment of the Friends of the East Palestine
Memorial Public Library in 1991, the purchase of a clock, an honorary
plaque for the first library volunteer, computer software, a printer, and
chairs for the Community Room were made possible among other items.
The Friends are an association of persons interested in books and
libraries. They focus public attention on library services,
facilities and needs.
The Friends welcome any adult interested in the East Palestine Memorial
Public Library.
The Junior Friends welcome any one between the ages of 10 and 18. Membership
forms can be obtained in the library. A membership form can be
printed from your computer and mailed or brought to the library.
